Jennifer is a former engineer, consultant, and refugee from “BigLaw”. She is the founder of J. Rohleder Law, PLLC, which focuses on assisting and coaching energy, environmental, and technology start-ups and small businesses to achieve their desired impact.
She is an experienced attorney with a background in engineering and project management. Jennifer provides a well-rounded perspective for business consultation, regulatory strategy, regulatory compliance and project development.
Jennifer has worked with numerous energy and environmental technology entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses through her involvement with the Cleantech Open. She helped coach the 2014 Cleantech Open National Grand Prize winner. Jennifer was named Executive Director of the Cleantech Open Southeast Region in February 2015.
Jennifer has represented clients in developing renewable energy projects, commercial contracts, transactional matters, environmental matters, and various regulatory law matters. She also serves as outside general counsel and counsel-in-residence to an energy technology-focused business incubator.
Jennifer earned a J.D., cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law where she served as an editor of Sustainable Development Law & Policy. She earned a B.S., with high distinction, in System Dynamics, with a minor in Law & Technology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Jennifer lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two children and two cats.
She enjoys cooking, gardening, photography, knitting and playing outside with her kids.
